Devices that cannot connect to uog wifi secure (the device is not a laptop/tablets/mobile phones) can be registered so they can use a wired connection or uog-guest wifi. The device(s) will stay registered for 365 days, after which they must be re-registered. Staff and faculty accounts can login to this portal and add devices. If the department needs to register more than 5 devices, please contact us. We will need the mac addresses of each device.
Adding a non-standard device to Guest Wifi (uog-guest)
This process is for devices that cannot connect to uog wifi secure and cannot use a wired connection.
1. Find the wireless MAC address of the device.
2. Go to the My Device portal and login - https://mydevice.uoguelph.ca
3. Choose Add.
4. Enter the device’s name into the “Device name” field and enter the device’s MAC address into the “Device ID” field. Click Submit. Wait a few minutes and the device should connect to uog-guest wifi. If it gives an error or does not connect, make sure you have entered the MAC address correctly. The MAC address should show after it has been added.
5. On the device choose uog-guest as the wifi network and it should connect.
