Common Login Error Messages
Sign-in is Blocked
If you have entered the password incorrectly too many times you will get a message that your account is “Blocked” or “Sign-in is blocked”. The more password failures you have, the longer your account will be Blocked. If you have 3 or 4 you will be blocked for about 5 minutes. If you have 8 or more your login may be blocked for 10 to 15 minutes.
Your Account is Blocked – we have detected suspicious activity
Microsoft will put accounts into a Risky users group if it detects suspicious activity such as logins from different geographical locations. This is often a sign that the password has been compromised. If you get this error message and it includes wording about risky user or “at-risk user” then your account has been put into this blocked group. Change your password and wait about 15-20 minutes and then you will be able to login.
You entered an incorrect email address
Make sure you entered the email address correctly including the @uoguelph.ca or @guelphhumber.ca email address . Contact us to verify your email address if you can't login .

When you login to Gryphons at Work with your email address and password - if you get this error message it means the problem is on the Gryphons at work side. Please contact them for assistance: gryphonsatworkhrmshelp@uoguelph.ca .
Blocked Access – you cannot access this right now
Some geographical locations can be blocked and you cannot sign-in. If you see wording “your sign-in was successful but does not meet the criteria to access this resource” you are logging in from a location that is blocked. Let us know the country where you are logging in and we will send a ticket to a team that can resolve this issue.
Error - Something went wrong
If you get a generic error message "something went wrong" this can be caused by a number of issues. Look to see if there is more detail about the error. If you have a new account, it could be that the inbox has not been made or the account does not have a licence. If the login has timed out or there is an issue with old cached information in your browser. Try a new login page and use an incognito/private browsing mode - see this page for steps to troubleshoot login issues.
