Connecting to 'uog-wifi-secure' On IOS with JoinNow

May 2026 WiFi Certificate Renewal: Please note that if you are configuring your device prior to the security certificate update (June 16 @ 6 a.m.), you are likely already connected to WiFi either on campus or at home. You do not need to follow the uog-guest instructions below. Just use this link to download the JoinNow tool: https://cloud.securew2.com/public/85431/uog-wifi-secure 

  1. Connect to the uog-guest wireless network and open a web browser (if you use Chrome you may see a note saying it is unsupported, please use Safari). If the registration page does not load in your browser, please type this website directly in the browser - neverssl.com. When the guest wifi page loads, scroll down to the section for Staff, Faculty and students. In the first section of this page is a link to the "wireless auto configuration tool" . Select this link and you will be taken to a page to download the JoinNow configuration tool.
     

  2. Select the "JoinNow" button to download the software.

Red button that says JoinNow. By clicking the JoinNow Button, you accept the following terms and conditions. Was your device detected incorrectly? Select your deivce: iPhone/iPad.   3. Click "Allow" to download the configuration file:
    Popup that states "cloud.securew2.com" is trying to download a configuartion profile. Do you want to allow this? Ignore Allow"

  4. Click "Close":
    Popup that states "Profile Downloaded. Review the profile in the Settings app if you want to install it. Close."

  5. Go to Settings and click on "Profile Downloaded":
    Settings. Apple Account, iCloud, and more. Red circle around text that states "Profile Downloaded". Airplane Mode.

  6. Click "Install" to install the profile.

Description: Welcome to the configuration tool for University of Guelph's secure wireless network uog-wifi-secure. Contains: 2 Wi-Fi Networks Certificate. More Details. Red text that states "Remove Downloaded Profile."

  7. You will get a pop-up warning.  You can review it then click "Install":

    "X" Button. Warning. Blue "Install" button. Unmanaged Root Certificate. Installing the certificate "University of GUelph Server (AAA) Root CA" will add it to the list of trusted certificates on your iPhone. This certificate will not be trusted for websites until you enable it in Certificate Trust Settings.

  8. Enter your Central Login ID (your University of Guelph email without the @uoguelph.ca): 
    "X" Button. Enter Username. Button that says "Next". Enter your username for the Wi-Fi network "uog-wifi-secure". Requested by the "University of Guelph uog-wifi-secure MobileConfig" profile.

  9. Enter your University of Guelph password.
    "X" Button. Enter Username. Button that says "Next". Enter your password for the Wi-Fi network "uog-wifi-secure". Requested by the "University of Guelph uog-wifi-secure MobileConfig" profile.

  10. Select 'Done' to finish setup.

  11. Go to Settings and connect to uog-wifi-secure.

  12. Enjoy the WI-FI!
