JoinNow - Android 14

 

Follow the steps to use JoinNow to configure your device to connect to uog-wifi-secure. You can also watch this video on how to connect your Android device and additional steps on troubleshooting Android devices. See this page for helpful FAQ’s if JoinNow is not working.

 

JoinNow Installation Instructions

  1. You can get the wireless configuration tool from the Play store - search "Secure W2" and choose install the SecureW2 JoinNow tool or you can get a link to the software from our guest wifi network. Connect to the uog-guest wireless network and open a web browser or go to the Play Store. If the registration page does not load in your browser, please type this website directly in the browser - neverssl.com. When the guest wifi page loads, scroll down to the section for Staff Faculty and Students. In the first section of this page is a link to the "wireless auto configuration tool". Select this link and you will be taken to a page to download the JoinNow configuration tool.
  1. Download/Install the SecureW2 JoinNow application from the Play store. You can access the Play store even if you do not have data on your phone from the guest wifi network.

3. After the software has been downloaded, choose Open.

 

4. The JoinNow application will open. Choose Search and Setup New Network.

JoinNow has 3 options. Choose the middle option that says Search and setup.

 

5. Enter the domain – uoguelph.ca and choose continue.

6. The device will search for the configuration for uog-wifi-secure – this may take a few moments.

7. Once the configurations loads, choose uog-wifi-secure .

 

There are two options on your phone - the first is Eduroam and the second is uog-wifi-secure

 

8. Enter your central login ID (the part before your @uoguelph.ca email) and password and choose continue. If your password is saved in your browser you can view it via the browser menu to verify it.

9. If you entered your credentials correctly you can now go to WiFi Settings and make sure your device is connected. If you get an error that your device did not connect to wifi it is most likely a password issue. You can test your password on this page:

10. The JoinNow app must stay installed on your phone – if you remove it, this will delete the configuration for the network and your device may not connect. The app takes up less than 20mb of space.
